Peace in the Middle East
This 12 day program is a combination of cycling in the Galilee, Golan, Samaria, and Jordan Valley and visit historic sites such as Acre, Sea of Galilee, Nablus, Jericho and Jerusalem. Far from you standard tour to Israel, this program will take you from Israel and to the Palestinian Authority, with all the contrast and beauty such a ride can offer. Few groups have cycled through the Palestinian areas, but those who are adventures enough will find quite roads, warm hospitality and authentic markets and sites, overlooked by most travelers. We off this program for groups, and also self guided programs. Tour length can be modified to fit your travel plans.
Day 1: Arrival and orientation
Transfer or Independent arrival to Naharia (Direct train from Airport and Tel Aviv), and meet for bike fitting and our first day orientation. Overnight- Naharia

Day 2- Western Galilee Loop
Our morning begins by biking north along the Mediterranean coast to the cliffs of Rosh HaNikra on Israel’s northern border. From here we will climb up into the mountains of the Western Galilee Mediterranean where we will finish our day with a walking tour of the Old City of Akko, nestled on the bay of Haifa. This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts the most complete Crusader remains in the world, and offers an exciting adventure the through the subterranean Knights’ Halls

Day 3 - Naharia to Malkia
Our day begins with a long climb to from the coast to the Upper Galilee. Today we will traverse the Galilee in a wonderful journey taking us first to the ancient Synagogue at Baram, and then on to a local winery to taste some of the local produce. We will also stop for a wine tasting at the Galil Mountain Winery and then end our ride at Kibbutz Makia.

Day 4 Galilee to Golan
Our road will take us down the Galilee, across the Hula Valley and the Jordan River, up to the Golan Heights. On our way we will pass through the town of Katzrin and pay a short visit here. Our ride will end with a viewpoint from the (dormant) volcano of Bental- above our hotel. Overnight: Golan

Day 5 - Northern Golan Loop
Our ride will take us to the Top of Mt Hermon- the highest peak in Israel, at the end of a long yet gradual climb. From here we will decent through the villages on it sloop to the Nimrod Fortress and then down to the Banias Springs. This place, holy to Christians, is in the heart of springs and lush bushes. We will continue to a nearby spring for a picnic lunch and swim and then ride along the Jordan. Last part of the ride you can choose to climb or boost back up to the top of the Golan.

We will ride along the quite roads of the Golan making our way through the farm land and then eventually down the sloops to the Sea of Galilee. We will spend the night on the shore of the lake. To end the day we will sail with our bikes across the lake to the town of Tiberius where we spend the night the next two nights

Day 7 Sea of Galilee Loop
Today is dedicated to the Sea of Galilee; we will spend the day on a loop journey around the shores of the lake, climbing one of the mountains surrounding it for a spectacular view over the lowest fresh water body in the world. We will visit the site of Capernaum, Jesus’ base during his ministry, and the Mount of Beatitudes from which Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount. From here we will decent to visit Capernaum, where Jesus acted for most of mission. We will end the ride and aim to be back at the hotel around lunch time allowing us to enjoy the town and the hotel facilities.

Our morning today begins with a ride through the Jordon River Valley to the ancient city of Beit Shean, or Scythopolis as it was known in Greek. We will have the opportunity to tour the impressive ruins. A short ride from there we will arrive at the Sachne Springs in Gan HaShlosha National Park and enjoy a dip in the refreshing natural water pools. We will end our day at the nearby Kibbutz of Nir David. Overnight- Beit She'an

We will have a short early morning ride to the Jalame Checkpoint where you will cross into the Palestinian Authority and also meet your new support staff for the next few days. We will continue by bike through the market town of Jenin and head to the Hadad Resort hotel outside of town to enjoy an afternoon off.

Day 10- Jenin to Nablus
Leave the Hotel and head south through the northern Samaria Villages, connected with low traffic roads and some steep hills. For lunch arrive at the hilltop ruins of Sebastia, this once Roman City and also believed to be the burial place of John the Baptist. From here we will continue to follow back road until we enter the busy city center of Nablus. We will head to a hotel in the old city center, and enjoy the rest of the afternoon exploring the market, and visiting the 400 year old Hamman.

Enjoy a late afternoon of touring the town and relaxing at the hotel. With time to pack your bikes.

Day 12- Jerusalem
Transfer in the morning to the city of Jerusalem, and set off with a walking tour of the Old City; here you will visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Western Wall, and get a rooftop view of the Dome of the Rock. After some free time in the afternoon we will enjoy an early dinner to say farewell to those ending the tour here. And check in to our hotel for the night.

Transfer in the morning to the city of Jerusalem, and set off with a walking tour of the Old City; here you will visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Western Wall, and get a rooftop view of the Dome of the Rock.
